Recently Hitech Cellphones inaugurated its newly built assembling unit at Merrill Logistics Park, Sankrail, Howrah. The said facility is spread across at a sprawling area of about 72,000 square feet, where Hitech brands of Features Phones and Smartphones would be assembled along with a wide range of Hitech Mobile Accessories. The factory began its operations in November and has incurred an investment worth of 15 crores. Hitech Cellphones is eyeing a turnover of more than 350 crores within the next fiscal year, where the said factory would be churning out about 2.5 million mobile handsets, six million chargers, nine million mobile batteries catering to a wide range of choices from the end users. Chinese partner Shenzhen Yiheyuan Technology Company has partnered with Hitech Cellphones for the mobile phone division, and Shenzhen Hi-Tech Electronic Industrial Company for the accessories division. Hitech Cellphones would start manufacturing 4G enabled handsets in this unit by April next year.
